KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip III Arrhidaios, 323-317 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.27 g, 2 h), Abydos. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΦIΛIΠΠOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in field to left, MH; below throne, horse's leg. Price P26. A sharp and very attractive piece. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
